REALTOR® Magazine-Daily News-Presidential Candidates Spar Over Homes

The fighting in politics will pick on any topic and turn it into a negative. If you look at the Obama campaign trying to make McCain look bad by saying he has been too successful and owns too many houses…that is irrelevant.

On the other hand if you look at McCain poking at Obama for whom he bought his house from as an issue…that too is silly. I have worked with many a buyer that I don’t think would want their reputation tied to the seller who previously owned their house.

I know that US politics doesn’t work this way, but wouldn’t it be nice for a change for the news be about "what they’ve done", "what they want to do", "how they plan on doing it", and "how successful they can be".

Presidential Candidates Spar Over Homes

Presidential candidate John Mc Cain triggered a media fuss this week when he couldn’t immediately answer a question about how many homes he and his wife own.

Property records reviewed by The Associated Press show McCain and his family appear to own at least eight homes and condos in three states.

Democratic candidate Barack Obama tried to make a little hay out of the news, saying that McCain was out of touch with Americans who were struggling to pay the mortgage. But the McCain campaign was quick to point out that Obama has his own questionable housing background, having bought his Hyde Park, Chicago home from a seller who had been convicted of influence peddling.
